Educational Presentation at 10:30

We are delighted to welcome Maria Wulf a highly sought after percussionist in the South Sound area!  She will be presenting her "tricks of the trade" for teaching rhythm and helping students and performers alike internalize the feel for beat and patterns.

Maria Wulf is an Olympia based drummer, percussionist and music educator. She is a graduate of the jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Master's in Percussion Performance from the University of Washington. Since Settling back in the northwest Maria has established herself as an in demand performer and music educator.  She has performed in such Northwest venues as The Earshot Jazz Festival, Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley, The Triple Door, The Seattle Art Museum, and Tula’s. Her original compositions have been performed at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts and have been featured on KPLU’s Jazz Northwest.

In 2004 Maria was chosen to perform in New York City and the Kennedy Center with the Sisters in Jazz Collegiate quintet sponsored by the International Association for Jazz Education and BET Television.
